Wood Care

Caring for your wood can help maintain its durability and preserve its beauty. Proper care will keep your piece looking great, but also protect it to ensure it lasts year after year!

All products are treated with food safe linseed oil and bees wax.

Items will need to be re-treated over time with a food safe wood wax or oil to prevent them from cracking or drying out. Try to avoid using olive and vegetable oils, as they can go rancid with time. For best results use walnut oil, coconut oil, flax seed oil, raw linseed oil or mineral oil.

It is important to keep all wooden products in consistent stable conditions to minimize the affects of temperature and moisture changes in the atmosphere. Keeping moisture in items is important for longevity, so avoid placing items like cutting boards too close to heat sources such as stoves.

Never put wooden items in the dishwasher or leave soaking in water *

When washing items wipe with a clean damp cloth. If wood becomes rough from prolonged contact with water use a fine grit sandpaper and lightly sand until smooth. Reapply wood oil or wax to keep wood well moisturized and allow for a few days to dry.
